As I realised after hours and hours of research into sustainable materials, sourcing them and looking at other designers using them, it was about time to get into the studio and start a little printing. I used a card stencil with a motif from my sketchbook and stuck it onto my silk screen and began printing onto recycled linen and cotton calico. I had mixed a lime green colour from my water-based inks, because I knew this colour would be existent in my product range. Its turns out, because of the nature of the card stencil, it didn't print as well as I would have liked it to. There was a little too much ink that had transferred onto the fabrics and made the drying process longer. Because of this, my patterns will have to be exposed onto a silk-screen instead of using a stencil.
