Ink & Spindle is a boutique screen-printing studio consisting of two designers - Lara Cameron and Tegan Rose. They hand screen-print all their designs in their studio, and work on a ethical and sustainable basis. They mostly produce pattern printed fabrics, and also sell lampshades and cushions. The patterns include many structures taken from nature with very tonal colours. The fabrics they print onto completely express's the natural element of their products, having a very raw and organic texture, and once the ink is printed onto the fabric, the ink holds that same texture.
A list of practises them employ:
- - Promote and use organic, sustainable & fair trade base cloths
- - Use only water based, solvent free inks
- - Minimise water wastage by using high pressure to clean screens
- - Water board certified separation system to prevent foreign particles from entering water system
- - Use of recycled paper, card and envelopes, and reusing boxes & packaging materials where possible
- - Use of biodegradable cello for packaging, as opposed to plastic
- - Use of compact fluorescent bulbs
- - Recycling of all office waste where possible
- - We offset our carbon emissions through support of Carbon Neutral
